The end of an Era the beginning of a new and scary one

So for the last year to year and a halfI’ve worked closely and intimately with a band named Aventine Hill as their “Media Manager”

Pretty much anything that involves video or photo I was their go to guy, not only have I grown as a creative force but also as a photographer, I’ve gained skills that I literally would not have been able to gain from reading text books and only by getting out there and shooting.

Along with becoming a better creative being and a photographer I’ve also formed amazing friendships with everyone involved, from their friends, manager, fans, people involved with gigs and anything else.

Ive re-sparked old friendships that I felt were either dead or atleast on track to die.

Ive met the love of my life because of this band and I have friendships with either the band or people involved with the band that when I look at my parents having friendships with people they have known for 30 plus years, I can see me having the same friendships with these people aswell.

Plenty of opportunities and situations have come from this band aswell, from speaking to other people to work with, to developing skills, to deciding to take this photography thing places.

Indeed it is very sad to see such an amazing force of unsigned AUSTRALIAN metal leave, but I know that there are plans for their future as a band and also as individual members.

Envy Parade are one of those relationships that Ive formed an awesome friendship with and not just oh a photographers level, I’m talking about these members of a band I had followed for a while and had only dreamed of getting to know them coming to my birthday party, sharing a cigarette with, sharing drinks and laughs with adn hopefully sharing some business with in the future aswell.

Thankyou to everyone I have met, shared experiences with, shared even an uncomfortably forced random 5 minute conversation about what we have been up to lately.

The way I see it is that when these guys are 40+ with their own families and kids and they are talking about how they were once rock stars with an amazing life which they all took for granted until it was gone, they will have these amazing photos to show them not to prove that they aren’t bullshitting but to reflect on what they had or still might have at the time

So after a long ass rant that wasn’t really meant for such a micro blogging platform, I give you some links of these amazing people that I’ve grown close to over the last year and a half.

Check em out guys
